Do not start fix Windows 7 backup and restore to uninstall Acronis True Image

Recently one of our readers a problem with Windows 7 backup and restore after you install and then Acronis True Image uninstall faced. If the user double backup and restore item in Control Panel on happened nothing except for a short hour glass.

Allegedly, the user had enabled for the Windows integration with Acronis True Image software, which in turn replaced change backup of Windows 7 by the backup and restore shell folder registry key. And installation of Acronis True Image not back the original values of the shell folder for backup and restore, so that it does not work. Run the file "C:\Windows\System32\sdclt.exe" not backup either be manually started.

1. Click Start, type Regedit.exe and press ENTER:

2. Go to the following branch:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ CLSID \ {B98A2BEA-7D42-4558-8BD1-832F41BAC6FD}

5. View the current owner information . TrustedInstaller currently is the owner of the key, select administrators from the list below, select Replace owner on child containers and objects, and then click OK.

6. Select administrators have full control permissions , and then click OK.

7. Do you the Windows 7 backup restore - registry fix folder. Fix-W7BackupKeys.zipdownload, unzip and run the .reg file.

You have fixed the Windows 7 backup shell folders key. As the owner of the above mentioned registry key restore back as next TrustedInstaller , and revoke full control permissions for the Administrators group .

(8) With the right mouse button on the {B98A2BEA-7D42-4558-8BD1-832F41BAC6FD} button and select permissions…Click Advanced, and choose the tab page owner.

9. Click Advanced, and choose the tab page owner.

10. Click other users or groups button

11. Enter NT-Service\TrustedInstaller in the text box, and then click OK. This adds the TrustedInstaller group listing.

12. With TrustedInstaller selected select Replace owner on child containers and objects, and then click OK.

13. Choose Administrators, disable "full control" , and then click OK.
